Are you running a small business? Or are you part of an organization that charges fees or accepts payments? Would you like to be able to accept payments on your phone wherever you may be? Then check out PayPal Here! There are loads of ways that businesses accept payment. Depending on the business that you have, you might be interested in looking into Bitcoin as you can offer a bitcoin to paypal payment. This is particuarly useful if you have a technology business for example, and there are also ways to keep track of your business orders and customer interaction using something similar to an invoice template as other business resources.
PayPal Here allows you to get paid anywhere you do business. All you need is your Smartphone (with the PayPal Here app on iOS or Android) and the Paypal Here Card Reader. With Paypal Here, you can accept the most payment methods (credit cards, debit cards and PayPal) and track checks, cash payments and send invoices.
I’ve been a PayPal user for about three years now and I love their service. It’s been my favorite payment method for when I need to make purchases or when I need to get paid. I also have a PayPal debit card that I can use wherever MasterCard is accepted (which is basically everywhere). Suffice it to say, I rely a lot on PayPal. And with PayPal Here, PayPal has really become my favorite service for payment transactions.
BuyDig.com sent me a PayPal Card Reader so that I can try out the service. And as soon as I received it, setting everything up was very quick and easy!
Simply download the PayPal Here app from Apple’s App Store or Google Play Store and do the following:
- Launch the app and sign in or create a PayPal account if you don’t have one yet.
- Plug your card reader into the audio jack. At first your phone or tablet will recognize it as a regular headphone but after just a second or two, you’ll see “card reader connected” appear on your phone. You will then be able to make transaction with PayPal Here!
- Key in the amount to be paid as well as the product name. Click on the “Charge” button.
- A dialog box will appear asking you to swipe the card. You can also click on other methods of payment (PayPal Check-In, Card Number, Cash, Check, or Invoice).
- Swipe the debit or credit card. A dialog box will ask if you’d like to send a receipt (via email or text).
Done! So easy! It didn’t even take me five minutes to do everything!

1) The Paypal Here login screen. 2) Main payment screen.
3) Confirmation that payment has been completed. 4) Confirmation that the receipt has been sent.
What I love about PayPal Here is that small businesses get the option to accept debit or credit card payments even when they’re not at their main location. I see this as being extremely useful for small businesses going on trade shows or expos. All you need to do is bring this small card reader to be able to accept payments!
I have no qualms about using PayPal Here because it uses end-to-end encryption and an encrypted card reader to help protect cardholder information. So I don’t have to worry about security. And having used PayPal for three years now, I know and trust their system.
PayPal Here has simple, pay-as-you-go pricing with no hidden fees so you know exactly how much you’ll get paid for every transaction.
Swipe US/Credit/Debit Cards* & PayPal – 2.70%
Key-in or Scan Credit/Debit Cards – 3.50% + $0.15
*International cards are subject to an additional 1% transaction fee
PayPal Here accepts US-based Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express debit and credit cards — so you can accept payment from almost all types of credit and debit cards!
Another plus is that swiped cards and PayPal payments are quickly transferred into your PayPal account. I checked my PayPal account as soon as PayPal Here provided me with a confirmation that my payment had been processed, and, sure enough, the payment was already posted in my PayPal transactions. I just love how easy it is to use PayPal Here!
GET IT! The PayPal Here Card Reader is available at BuyDig.com for $15. As soon as you receive it, go to PayPal.com/Redeem and enter the code on your card reader to receive a $15 refund. This means your PayPal Here Card Reader is actually FREE!

WOW! They always come up with new and interesting things! I really loved your review on the Paypal Here! It’s a terrific device for people who work with paypal and use it often! As usual, though, it needs to be used with an IPhone, which we do not own. However, I know so many people who have the iPhone and also receive payments! I will definitely pass this information on to them! Who knows, they may not have heard of it yet and would be glad to get the information! Thanks for the terrific review and all the pictures you showed! I Truly do appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele 🙂

This is pretty cool. I just made my first paypal purchase a few weeks ago, and loved how easy it was. I will have to look into this, I mean, it’s free, so even if I don’t use it often, Id have the option if needed.
This would be very handy for my chorus when we sell our CDs at concerts. Thanks for the review.
I don’t use paypal , but I do know they have a good track record. I also just opened and account with them but no money to put in LOLL but atleast its there for now
My husband and daughter both have one of these, they use it weekly at the farmer’s market for our family business. It works great with some phones, and a little quirky with others.
I had a paypal account several years ago when I used to shop on E-bay. I got ripped off on a high dollar purchase. They helped me get my money back.
I have yet to open a Pay Pal account, not sure why I have not done it. I guess many have opened one and get paid, pay their purchases with it.
I have had paypal for a while, but never thought about getting one, as I was unsure how it all worked and was kind of a little confusing, but this post helped answer all my questions. Awesome addition to get paid through paypal.
I use Paypal to pay bills automatically and other purchases if it is available. This looks like a great feature. Thank you.
