The 4th annual Scotties TREES ROCK! Video contest is back! Kids in grades 3-5th or 6-8th may now create a 3 minute (or less) video about the importance of trees and win $10,000 for their school!
The video can be many things — a skit, a song, a dance, a speech, a jingle, a poem, or an interpretive dance! The more creative the better! Just make sure to answer one question “Why do trees rock?”
Trees Rock encourages individuals or groups of kids in grades 3, 4, and 5 or 6, 7, and 8 to submit a video about the importance of trees. In each group, the grand prize winner (determined by a national vote) will win $10,000 for their school to use towards a sustainable project. The remaining 10 finalists in both groups will not leave empty-handed either and can walk away with prizes ranging up to $7,000.
Need inspiration? Check out Scotties Facial Tissues YouTube for videos from finalists of years past. And be sure to watch this intro video from Scotties to get a better idea!
The TREES ROCK! contest centers around educating kids not only on the importance of trees but as part
of a bigger picture of sustainability within the community as a whole. From all of the video entries, 12
finalists will be announced in December 2013 and will go to a public vote on www.ScottiesTreesRock.com to choose the winner. The winner will be announced in February 2014 and the winner event will take place
in April 2014.
Now to encourage you to enter this awesome sweepstakes, I’m giving away a Scotties Care Pack which includes a month’s supply of Scotties Facial Tissues and a $25 Target Gift Card! Giveaway is open to US residents who are at least 18 years old. Void where prohibited by law. To enter, use the GiveawayTools form below. Good luck!

I don’t like trees. We have a 300 yr. old oak tree right up against the house. Raking is quite a chore. We’re saving to have it removed. So, trees rock because the wind blows.

Trees Rock because, when their leaves are on, they provide shade. They take in the carbon dioxide and leave out oxygen into the air. Kids can have Tree Houses in them! They are homes to birds, squirrels and any other little critters that make their home in the trees. Some trees are “flowering” trees and look absolutely beautiful! Tress general outlive people. They are fun to put a “tire” on to swing. There are so many reasons why Trees Rock, I just named a few! Thanks, Michele 🙂

I grew up in Ann Arbor Michigan so my appreciation for trees began early. I got my first kids under the huge willow in our backyard. I used to stare at them out my window after my parents died, my father telling me before he died he’d be there with every breath. I own land down south and they wanted to cut the trees off my land. I was the only one that said no, we need to breathe don’t we
