SF Bay Area peeps! Volta by Cirque Du Soleil is now playing under the Big Top at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds in San Jose through March 24, 2019. Be sure to check it out!

I have been wanting to see a Cirque Du Soleil show for the longest time because of all the great reviews I’ve been hearing from friends and reading from websites. So I’m thankful to finally have had the opportunity to watch the Volta premiere right here in San Jose! I received complimentary tickets so I can share my honest opinion and experience.

I was with my husband at the premiere, and because we got there about an hour before Volta started, we had time to go around to check out merchandise on sale. We received some free clown noses and keychains. People were giving out free champagne, hors d’oeuvres and popcorn to those who were waiting for doors to open. We also had an opportunity to have a photo taken with some cast members (see it on Cirque Du Soleil’s Volta Facebook page)!

While walking around, my husband admitted that he wasn’t very excited about watching — he says it might just be like the other circus show we watched a couple of years ago. Oh, he had a complete change of heart after the show. He now wants to see other Cirque Du Soleil shows with our little one!

My husband and I couldn’t stop applauding the performers during the show. There were so many great acts — the rope skippers, the BMXers, the acrobats, the lady who did the hair suspension, and so many more. But if I’m going to choose my three favorite acts, I’d say it’s the Trampowall, the Shape Diving, and the magnificent Mr. Wow. Their acts were so much fun and I almost didn’t want their segments to end!

Volta received rave reviews from the San Francisco Chronicle, The Mercury News, San Francisco Examiner, and Stage Buddy. Not surprising, really. And I’m going to join these SF Bay Area media outlets in saying that, yup, it definitely is a must-see show!

And with my husband being a newly inducted Cirque Du Soleil superfan, I’m sure Volta won’t be the last Cirque show we’ll see.
