Playing Pokemon Go at Overfelt Park in San Jose

Okay I’ll admit it. I play Pokemon Go.

At first it was just out of curiosity. But now I play because I want to be the very best. Like no one ever was. (If you don’t play or watch Pokemon, that’s the first line in the Pokemon theme song. LOL)

I like going to different places because I want to be able to catch as many types of Pokemon as I possibly can. One of my favorite places to go to is the Guadalupe River Park in Downtown San Jose, just a block away from the SAP Center. That area has a lot of PokeStops and people almost always activate lures in that area.

The very first time I went there to play Pokemon Go was a Sunday night.

Because it was a workday the following day, I didn’t expect the area to be so full of people. But it was. My friends and I just walked and hung out and caught some new Pokemon.

Then all of a sudden we saw what looked like an “exodus” of people heading to the other side of the park. We didn’t know what was happening but we figured someone probably found a rare Pokemon. True enough, we found a Squirtle in that area.

After that, we decided to head back to the other side where there were more PokeStops. Alas, as we were walking back, my phone died. Pokemon Go players know how this game can easily drain your phone’s battery. But that time, I was a newbie Pokemon Trainer. I didn’t know any better.

Because of that experience, I learned to never leave the house without a backup charger.

I’ve had portable power banks in the past so I can say that I’m not new to this. You charge your power bank till it’s full, then make sure it’s in your bag, ready to charge your phone when you need it.

But for the portable banks I’ve tried before, one full charge usually just gave me one fully charged phone on the go. I’ve used portable power banks during our trips to Disneyland and Universal Studios where we walk around and take photos and videos the whole day. The portable chargers are a big help. But I didn’t realize that there’s a portable power bank that can give me more than just one full charge on the go.

I received the Emie Devil Volt Graffiti Charger from Apollo Box and it has really exceeded my expectations.

First off, it looks really cute. I was charging my Devil Volt charger at work one time so it was just on my desk. My boss got really curious and asked what this cute thing was. It so didn’t look like a portable charger, that’s for sure. It kind of looked like a toy, which is also probably why she asked about it. Haha!

The box comes with the Devil Volt charger, a microUSB cord for charging it, a user manual, a set of stickers, a strap and a pin to help you get the strap through the hole on top of the Devil Volt’s head.

In the weeks that I was able to try out this portable charger, I can say that it’s the best power bank I’ve ever had. While I can’t say it’s the best, period; I can say it’s the best one I’ve tried so far.

In just one full charge of the Emie Devil Volt Charger, I am able to charge my iPhone two and a half times! Yes, that’s two charges that went all the way up to 100% and one final charge that gave me 54%. Not bad. Not bad at all.
