CINDERELLA opens in theaters everywhere on March 13th! And they’ve just released a new trailer! Watch it here!
The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new Stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family.
Soon, she is forced to become their servant, disrespected, covered in ashes and spitefully renamed Cinderella. Yet, despite the cruelty inflicted upon her, Ella will not give in to despair nor despise those who mistreat her, and she continues to remain positive, determined to honor her mother’s dying words and to “have courage and be kind.”
When Ella meets a dashing stranger in the woods, unaware that he is really the Prince (Richard Madden) and not merely Kit, an apprentice at the palace, she believes she has finally found a kindred soul. It appears her fortunes may be about to change when the King (Derek Jacobi) summons all maidens in the kingdom to attend a royal ball at the palace, raising Ella’s hopes of once again encountering the charming Kit. Alas, her Stepmother forbids her to attend and callously destroys her dress.
Meanwhile, the calculating Grand Duke (Stellan Skarsgård) devises a plan to thwart the Prince’s hopes of reuniting with Ella and enlists the support of the devious Stepmother. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand. Soon, a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin, a few mice and a magic wand, changes Cinderella’s life forever.

Oh, I can’t wait to see this!!!! I love these types of movies and the cast looks great.. though I think cate blanchett is way too young and beautiful to play an evil stepmother!! Though she will do a wonderful job!!

Very Interested and hope to see it with my daughter.
Cinderella is one of my faves and my daughters as well we are all excited for March to get here!!! 🙂
This might be OK if you have older kids/grandkids but I think my grandkids would not sit through this and would be over their heads. Love the animations.

I saw a previous trailer when I saw “Into the Woods” (great movie). I want to see this one.
I love the realistic version, that is not animated, kind of like watching a play but better.
This movie looks so good and I am glad that Disney did a remake of this story because it needed to be done! I really want to see this incredible movie!
I’m such a kid at heart, especially at girly things. Can’t wait to see it in Theatres and buy the Dvd when it becomes available.
Some things never change. I like these stories but there’s always a girl and her prince charming waiting to take her away. Kind of unrealistic.
Sbeautiful remake by disney as always.

I know my girls would love to see this. I love how they recreated such a beautiful movie. It’s one of my all times favorites.
Only 2 weeks to go. Want to see it.
i love the story of Cinderella. i wonder if this will be closer to the Grimm’s version or the Disney. 🙂 i love that Helen Bonham Carter is playing the Fairy Godmother. it’s a far cry from Belatrix Lestrange character she played in Harry Potter and shows what a great actress she is. :).
