Great news! Earth To Echo is now out on BluRay and DVD in stores and online! This wonderful journey, “full of adventure, bravery, excitement, and friendship…has something for audiences of all ages” (Claudia Puig, USA Today). The “lively and likable” (Gary Goldstein, Los Angeles Times) tale is told through the eyes of Tuck, Munch and Alex, a trio of pals who make an out-of-this-world discovery.
After receiving signals on their phones, they meet Echo, a small, but amazingly energetic alien trying to make his way back to his home planet. As they race to help their new friend, the boys will discover that little Echo has touched their hearts in unexpected ways and changed their lives forever.

Looking at Earth To Echo’s DVD cover, I’m reminded of the old movie ET — mainly because of the image of a finger pointing towards the alien. The main premise of an alien just wanting to go back to where it came from is pretty similar to that of ET. But since I don’t remember much of the old movie anymore, it doesn’t really matter to me.
The flow of the story seemed good to me. I also liked Echo’s appearance because unlike ET, he doesn’t look scary. He actually looks cute and my son keeps referring to Echo as “Baby Robot”. I think the only thing I didn’t like about it is the way it was filmed — like the kids were just recording everything on their camcorder. I got really dizzy because of it so I just kept on looking at other stuff while watching the movie. Overall though I think it’s a pretty good movie.
To prepare you for this adventurous, exciting and heart warming film, here is a list of great ways to spend time with your friends — outside and away from your cell phones!
1. Pick Up Games
There is nothing like starting a sports pickup game with all your neighborhood friends. Between sitting in class all day and coming home to do homework, a quick game, whether it is hockey, baseball, basketball or soccer, will let you use up some of that energy you’ve been storing! Not only this, but this is an awesome way to make new friends.
2. Bike Rides
With your parents permission of course, take a cruise around the neighborhood with your friends! Also, make sure you wear a helmet. You can use your imagination and make fun adventures out of your journey!
3. Hide N’ Seek
A neighborhood game of Hide N’ Seek is the ultimate outside activity. With permission from your parents, and of course, using the buddy system when it comes to hiding, Hide N’ Seek is sure to be an awesome time.
4. Backyard Campout
Ask your mom and dad to set up a backyard camp out for you and your friends! Start by setting up a tent and marking your territory with your sleeping bag! You can spend the night telling scary stories and eating S’mores!
5. Chalk
The most underrated outside activity has to be chalk! It is so much fun to create fun pictures and even games with all your friends. You can play hopscotch or tic-tac-toe or use your imagination to draw wonderful pictures!

If I saw an alien in my backyard, depending on what it looked like and how big it is, I would either go over to it and check it out, or if it were ugly looking and big, I’d freak out and run into the house and lock everything up! Then I’d probably grab my camera and take pictures of it through my window! I remember ET And, at the time of that movie, he was cute compared to the aliens you see on TV these days. It’s still a good movie as well! I haven’t seen Earth to Echo and I would like to! Thanks for this giveaway, it’s something a can put away for my kids for Christmas! Thanks again, Michele 🙂

If I saw an alien, I would most likely cry, and probably play dead!
“Earth to Echo” reminds me of “ET” as well, but I don’t think ET looked scary, maybe you should re-watch it. I have not seen “Earth to Echo” yet so I don’t know how much it is like “ET” if at all. Thank you for sharing this post.

Oh my goodness, I would dial 911. So crazy! I would definitely be afraid. :\
I wish I could say that I wouldn’t be afraid but, honestly, I don’t think I would know for sure, until I was in that situation.
I’m guessing when I say that I would probably run and hide. Maybe let my dog outside to chase it away. Lol
I would say hi and want to ask it a million questions about their planet.
I would run back inside and instantly call for my husband to come to where I was!
I would see if the alien was the friendly type or not yet be cautious
I was wondering about this movie. I was thinking about getting it for my grandkids, one being 6, and am glad I found this. It seems to be a movie all 3 boys will enjoy. Thank you! 🙂

If I saw an Alien in my backyard and let`s say I didn`t faint,I would probably go into shock.I would freeze on the spot and if it spoke to me I would definitely stutter out some kind of senseless garble. If it looked like E.T. however, that would be different. I would invite it into my house and welcome it to stay for awhile just like in the movie.LOL
I am commenting on the movie because it does look good but I really like your ideas and suggestions on getting the little ones out of the house and moving.. I have to do that with my grandchildren, I go around the house and unplug and make everyone put there toys in a box and we head outside or do crafts and so on, thanks for share
I can’t even begin to tell you how much my grandchildren love this movie. We first heard about it here. Thank you so much for sharing
