Say Goodbye to Survival Mode | Book Review

I received Crystal Paine’s “Say Goodbye To Survival Mode” book from BookLook for purposes of evaluation. Thoughts are my own.

I have been following Crystal Paine since 2011 when I started getting interested in saving money though couponing. Her blog, Money Saving Mom, has helped me become more conscious about my spending habits and with how I use my money. But aside from being financially wise, Crystal also shares about organizing your life, about parenting, faith and blogging. Just a trivia: It was one of Crystal’s posts on Money Saving Mom that encouraged me to start blogging in July 2011. Another way to save is by releasing equity, use this free calculator to see how much you could release.

So when I found out that Crystal has published another book (I have her other book “Money Saving Mom’s Budget” too), I knew I wanted to read it. “Say Goodbye To Survival Mode” is for everyone who’s super busy, stressed out and overtired. The book guides us to the right path so we can start a more fulfilling life.

Say Goodbye To Survival Mode

You wake up tired. Your to-do list is too long. The commitments—and the laundry—are piling up, but your energy keeps dwindling. You feel like you’re simply making it through the days, not living or enjoying any part of them.

In Say Goodbye to Survival Mode, you’ll find both practical ideas and big-picture perspective that will inspire you to live life on purpose. As a wife, mother of three, and founder of the wildly successful blog MoneySavingMom.com, Crystal Paine has walked the road from barely surviving to living with intention. With the warmth and candor of a dear friend, she shares what she’s learned along the way, helping you:
– feel healthier and more energetic by setting priorities and boundaries
– eliminate stress with savvy management of your time, money, and home
– get more done by setting realistic goals and embracing discipline
– rediscover your passions—and the confidence to pursue them

The book has straightforward solutions that we can apply to our lives as well as actual stories of Crystal’s experiences. I think the most important thing I learned from the book — and the thing I’m still trying to apply in my life — is to stop trying to do it all. I guess it’s normal for us moms to be the all-around person in the home that we bring the same mentality outside the home setting.

It’s important for us to remember our priorities and build our life around those things so we can still have some extra time for ourselves. Say Goodbye to Survival Mode is a must for any woman who’s ever longed for the freedom to enjoy life, not just survive it.

Purchase “Say Goodbye To Survival Mode”!

It’s available on ThomasNelson.com (currently at $22.99) and on Amazon.com ($17.43 for the hardcover edition and $14.99 for the Kindle edition).
