Captain America: The Winter Soldier Review + Activity Sheets

I received free passes to the advanced screening of Captain America: The Winter Soldier last week. Thoughts are my own.

Captain America Winter Soldier #CaptainAmerica

Okay, my husband and I have been waiting so long for the second Captain America movie because we’re huge Marvel fans. Actually, any announcement of any movie of any of the Avengers excites us. And having watched the Marvel Studios: Assembling A Universe feature last month on ABC, I knew how much this movie will affect the rest of the upcoming Marvel movies. The people behind the Avengers movies revealed that the events in Captain America: The Winter Soldier will change S.H.I.E.L.D. so I got really curious and wanted to see the movie even more.

In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Cap tries to adjust to the modern world and befriends Sam Wilson, an ex-military paratrooper who later on becomes Falcon. He still works closely with S.H.I.E.L.D. and soon finds out that he cannot just trust anyone as they are being hunted down by the Winter Soldier — a new nemesis who I can say is “special” to Captain America.

The movie’s fight scenes and effects are amazing. I don’t think there was any point in the movie where I felt like it was moving too slow. In fact, there was a time when I looked wide-eyed at my husband and be like “what??!!” but I don’t want to give any spoilers here so you really just have to see for yourself. And as the movie ended, it left me wanting more. I guess that’s how they really conceptualized it; it makes you want to not miss the next Avenger movie because this one gave room to so many questions and possibilities that can only be resolved in future movies.

So I guess what I’m saying is, head over to your nearest theater now and don’t miss this movie! And again, as with any Avenger movie, remember to stay for the extra scenes at the end (there are 2 in this film)!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is now in theaters everywhere!

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is produced by Kevin Feige, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp and Hayley Atwell, with Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Alan Fine and Stan Lee.The film releases April 4, 2014, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
