Amazing SpiderMan Family Discussion Guide Review

The Amazing SpiderMan will be out in theaters on May 2 and my son is very excited about it! He just really loves Spiderman! Actually, he loves almost all superheroes. And if you have a child or a teen who you plan to see the movie with, why not read about some points that you can discuss with him/her?

We’ve always known that SpiderMan’s most important battle has been within himself — the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of SpiderMan. But in The Amazing SpiderMan 2™, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

Amazing Spiderman Discussion Guide

The discussion guide for The Amazing SpiderMan 2 is a great resource for families to discuss a range of important themes that include the relationship between personal choices and destiny, living a life that counts, sacrificing yourself in service to others, and the nature of power.

This guide will help parents start (or continue) conversations with their children that will inspire them to think outside themselves and challenge them to live lives that matter. The conversations that will result from using this guide will reveal that even the most explosive summer blockbuster can leave lasting, positive impacts on its young viewers.

What I love about this discussion guide is that it’s Bible-based. Sometimes, it can be difficult to find how these movies can be tied with some biblical values that they have to learn. But the discussion guide did a great job in highlighting points that our children should learn from the movie.

  1. We don’t always get all the movie in the theater near us. Where I live the nearest theater plays one movie every few weeks. By the time we get them they are almost released on DVD. So it depends on if and when we get it at our theater. I live in Northern Maine in the country which explains why it is so long it takes and why such a small theater.

  2. Just one more day! My son will probably be at the midnight showing. The guide you described sounds really neat, I wish they’d have had something like that available when my boys were little.

  3. I just barely seen the first movie, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! I definitely want to take my kids to see it. Well at least my older two…our youngest can’t sit through a whole movie yet.

  4. Going to see it tomorrow when it comes out! We love Spiderman in this house. Or even better, we love all the superheroes. I never think to explain important lessons that are in movies to the kids. I like that you said, “the relationship between personal choices and destiny, living a life that counts, sacrificing yourself in service to others, and the nature of power.”

  5. I am so excited to see this movie! My husband and I are going this weekend!

  6. I’ve not seen the first one yet, so hoping to get both DVDs and watch them together. I may have some free movie passes to use so then I would see it at a theater.

  7. I probably won’t be able to see it in theaters because we have smaller children and don’t get out much so we will have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

  8. Absolutely! I grew up watching these cartoons with my brothers. Now I love watching the movies and sharing them with the kids! 🙂

  9. (Amazing SpiderMan Family Discussion Guide Review) This sounds like it is going to be a good movie to go and see in the theater. My husband and I plan on going to see it.
