Tomboy Tools Review

I received a Tomboy Tools Kit for purposes of evaluation. Thoughts are my own.

Ever since I was young, I’ve always wanted to fix things on my own. I know that my strength has limits, so while I try to do things by myself at first, I still call for help if I really can’t do it and I always make the most of tools like those from Tradefix Direct which can make light work of jobs. Through the years I’ve learned to do a lot of things because of this mentality. I go with this kind of mentality even for seemingly masculine tasks such as fixing our toilet and setting up our furniture. For bigger jobs you’ll need more significant tools such as bandsaws, so take a look at toildrop.com for reviews on all kinds of products.

If my hubby wants to be called the Handy Daddy, I want to be called the Handy Mommy. And Tomboy Tools offers the perfect set of tools for such moms like me.

Tomboy Tools strives to provide educational resources and opportunities for women (and girls) that will help inspire them and build their confidence in using tools. Most of Tomboy Tools’ product line of high-quality pink tools was designed in response to the growing demand of women wanting their own quality tools in pink, as well as give back to causes through the Pink for a Purpose initiative. Tomboy Tools works with ergonomic specialists, designers and manufacturers to provide tools that are effective, lightweight, durable, high-quality and comfortable for women.

Tomboy Tools by Angel graciously sent me the Pink Diamond w/o Toolbelt Kit so I can personally see and try the tools. The Pink Diamond Kit comes in a beautiful pink-and-black tool box which you can see below.

Tomboy Tools Pink Diamond

This Pink Diamond Kit comes with 16 tools, accessories and safety items, EXCEPT the Pink Tool Belt:

– a multi-bit ratchet screwdriver
– a 25ft fractional tape measure
– a quick-changing utility knife
– a mini hacksaw
– a torpedo level

And with these tools, I was able to switch out our old toilet seats with new ones, installed a toilet bidet, and even adjusted a new watch that was too big for my wrist. The fun thing about it is that these tools are in such a feminine color that tells me (and others) that these tools are mine. Very nice!

But beyond just the color of the tools, what makes me want to support this company is that they are building a community of women that support each other in their discovery of using such tools. They also give back to causes such as the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and Habitat for Humanity.

BUY IT! The Tomboy Tools Pink Diamond Kit without the toolbelt is available at TomboyTools.info/angel for $109.

Tomboy Tools Review — 66 Comments

  1. At home I also try my best to do the men stuff because im the only adult woman at home and that my job to do always well if theres sometimes major I need to call the experts. The tomboy tools sounds a nice thing to try one day

  2. I love doing DIY projects even though I am a girly, girl. Pink tools would make it that much more fun for me~

  3. i would love to have my own set of tools, and pink at that. my husband is not always too happy when i go get one of his screw drivers and use it; men are so protective over their tools šŸ™‚

  4. I would love to have this tool set. It would definitely be useful at home or maybe in my van. Plus I could keep it away from the hubs where the tools wouldn’t be lost or misplaced. I enjoyed reading the review.

  5. I’d like to have one of these sets to give to my fiance. She always has me do anything around the house, but this looks like it would be useful to carry in her car too. Thanks for the info, she would love the pink color too.

  6. I have all my own tools since I have no one else to do it for me! They’re not pretty pink like this but I don’t mind. It would make a great gift for a girlfriend.

  7. I have no problems using regular tools in black and red or yellow, but if your favorite color is pink, it’s nice to have options!

  8. I have always loved using tools around the house. I even worked in a hardware store as a teenage girl. Back then there were hardly any tools for women, I just remember a small hammer with floral print on the handle, that was all. What a great line and for a good cause.

  9. Oh wow! This is just what I need for ME! I can never find a tool when I need it, and only have a few basic ones anyways. Have to borrow from my dad or neighbors alot of the time. I would love this!

  10. Hmm, I don’t think there is a need to have a tool box/set designed just for women to encourage them to use tools. Marketing gimmick.

    • Everything that a company does to promote their product is a marketing gimmick, even to have them featured on blogs like mine. But I guess what’s important in the impact they make. Tomboy Tools is actually more than just the pink tools. They’re vision includes building a community to educate each other and give back to causes. šŸ™‚

  11. I LOVE it…except for the gender stereotypical color…pink. I can’t stand it, and I hate that they take normal things, and color them pink in hopes that women will buy them. If it were pink because of their support of the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, that would be one thing, (the color has all but become synonymous with the name), but it’s not.
That being said, other than the color, I love this kit.

  12. I would love to have my own set of tools. Something tells me that they would be less likely to be borrowed and not returned. LOL

  13. My father worked for a lumber yard that carried lots of tools. He showed me how to use them and I’ve never been afraid to use them. I have my own tool box but it would be fun to have these.

  14. This is what I need! My sons are always stealing my tools and when I need them, I can’t find them! Maybe they would leave these ones alone because they’re pink!

  15. Thanks for the great review. It seems like I never have the right tool when I need it around the house…something like this would be perfect to have…and it’s PINK…so that’s a plus!

  16. Thank you for the review. This would make a great gift….it’s important for women to know how to use tools and fix things for themselves.

  17. This is awesome! My mother-in-law got me a basic tool kit in a pink hard case one year for Christmas. I used it often until a tornado hit our house. ‘Fraid it couldn’t help me with that. LOL The house was totaled. I’m not sure where my tool kit is now. Probably in a tote somewhere with my kitchen stuff (I kept it on the floor between the fridge and cabinet). Guess I should go look for it. :0)

  18. That’s a cute tool kit. We probably have this stuff around the house, but where? It would be nice to have a few of my own tools.

  19. I loved it because it’s great for those who live alone and do not know anyone to help you.

  20. I Love these tools!
This is the first time I have heard about this site and their awesome products. I would love to have a set of the tools šŸ™‚

  21. Thanks for your excellent review on Tomboy Tools. I really like the fact that the tools come with a toolbox and that it is well organized and that it is more than a cheap set of beginner’s tools as some of te other pink tools are. I’m not crazy about pink as I prefer purple and some of my friends wouldn’t buy them because they are pink. I just like them because it is a good set that provides you with almost anything you need to made basic home repairs.

  22. It’s always good to have a basic set of tools on hand so that you can do minor repairs. My issue is that I don’t like the color pink! It seems like most of the manufacturers that make tools sized for women’s hands and strength have decided that they need to be pink. I would love to see them come in almost any other color.

  23. oh I love anything pink , im a breast cancer survivor and I gurss I choose pink because of the awareness, but anyway I love the idea of pink tools, I so would love to have these, there cool

  24. I have never seen anything so awesome I would love to have a pink toolbelt also.

  25. This is very cool, I’d love to have one of these tool kits, everything is pink. Thank you for this review.

  26. Thanks so much for the Fantastic Review on Tomboy Tools! I absolutely Love this Tool Kit! Not just because it’s pink and gives back, but because these tools are especially made for women! I know that when I see something that needs to be fixed, I ask hubby to fix it for me and I have to wait forever until I nag long enough for him to finally get it done! If he sees me with one of his tools, he’s always asking me “what and why do you have my “whatever”” I would love to own a tool kit like this! My mother bought my oldest daughter one for Christmas 2 years ago! She loves it! Even though her hubby is in the Army, he is not a “fix it man” at all! She does 99% of the fixing up, and hanging up, etc. LOL My hubby likes to think he’s Tim The Toolman! Just because his name is Tim SHEESH! MEN! Thanks so much for sharing your fantastic review, all the terrific pictures, and your personal and professional information on Tomboy Tools with all of us! You know that I most definitely do appreciate it! Thanks again! Michele šŸ™‚
