* I was compensated for my time in reviewing the fligoo website and writing this post. Regardless, thoughts are my own. You know the holiday season is upon us when you start seeing holiday gift guides and gift deals on Facebook, twitter, Pinterest and other social media websites. And the reason why these gift guides are so popular is the fact that it’s not easy to think of gifts for other people. I mean, yes there are lots of products out there but it’s hard to think of one that you’re sure the other person will like. Enter fligoo. fligoo.com is a gift recommendation website that works by analyzing social media data to provide customized gift ideas from the best online stores such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, ThinkGeek, Uncommon Goods & more. All you need to do is sign up for the service using Facebook. The website has a “How fligoo Sees You” feature that lets you see how the system has analyzed your interests based on your Facebook likes and activity. My personality wheel is in the image above. So based on my Facebook activity, I am for the most part a Geek and a Shopaholic — probably because of all the tech and gift products I post about. And based on this analysis, fligoo suggests gift ideas for me which I can add to my Wishlist. Here are a few of the items on my fligoo Wishlist:
But it doesn’t stop there. It also suggests gifts for your friends even if they don’t have a fligoo account! Just type in their name on the Search box and the system will analyze their interests based again on their Facebook activity. Here’s a sample “Gifts For Your Friend” page:
Then anytime you see one that your friend will most probably like, just click on its image to see the product details. Here are two examples of a Product Detail page. After you’ve made up your mind, simply click on “Go For It” and it will redirect you to a retailer that offers that specific product.
Take note though that fligoo does not sell these products. They simply connect the person to the companies that offer the products. The Amazon Gift Card directed me to Amazon.com (obviously, I guess), while the Root Beer Brewing Kit directed me to ThinkGeek.com. These are 2 very reliable online retailers so you won’t have to worry about your purchases.
So anytime you’re at a loss for gift ideas for your friends, why not use fligoo.com! It’s fast and easy, and it has a reliable source of information!
