Pajanimals Under The Lights Projector Review

I received the Pajanimals Under The Lights Projector By TOMY for evaluation purposes. Thoughts are my own.

When I was young, I always slept with all the lights off. The only light in my room were the lights in the hallway and the moon shining through my window. I liked it like that. But My husband cannot sleep without a night light, and the same is true for my son. Genes? Not sure. But we have 4 different projector night lights (with cartoon characters) at home because we want to see different images every night.

But a particular night light I want is the one that projects stars and moons on the ceiling. So I welcomed the opportunity to review the Pajanimals Under The Lights Projector By TOMY.

About the Pajanimals Under The Lights Projector By TOMY:

Inspired by the Jim Henson show Pajanimals as seen on Sprout and NBC kids…part light show and part music box, the Pajanimals Under the Lights Projector by TOMY will lull your child to sleep in no time! This sound soother serenades your child to sleep with the soothing Pajanimals lullaby theme song, while projecting a cosmic starry night light show that softly changes colors.

My son really liked this because of the Pajanimals character so he also plays with it during the day. He turns the music and the lights on and off several times and he seems to really enjoy it. And at night, he likes seeing the stars, the rockets and the moons on the ceiling.

There are 3 different modes on this product — Music and Lights mode, Light only mode and a “Try Me” mode. The Music and Lights mode automatically changes the light color every few seconds, but the Light Only mode is just static and projects only one color for the whole duration. The Try Me mode just gives the user a glimpse of what it does so it just lasts a few seconds.

The Pajanimals Under The Lights Projector shuts off automatically after 12 minutes so you’re sure your batteries won’t die in just one night. But I’d also love it if they added a mode that didn’t auto-shut off. I’d love for the stars and the moons to be on the ceiling all night. So in addition to this, we still use another night light (one that’s turned on the whole night) just so we won’t stumble on anything if we need to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

The only thing I didn’t like about this is that the holes on the product is just on the top surface and doesn’t even go to edges. So it only projects to the whole ceiling if it’s placed at the very center of the room. If you place it on a bedside table, it will only project on just a part of your ceiling. So perhaps the top surface should be dome-shaped and there should be holes even to the edges of the top surface so it could project to a larger area.

All in all, I’d say this is a pretty good product. It’s not perfect but it works pretty okay.

  1. This is really cute 🙂 I think my youngest son would love this- he needs a night light to sleep at night and right now we just use the plug into the wall variety. This is a lot more fun 🙂

  2. Those are cute. Enough light to soothe a child but not so much that others will be bothered by it.

  3. My Son would love this. Lately he has been serious into space and the planets and stars. His Sisters have pillow pets, I bet he would like this a lot better. Thank you for sharing this… adding this to the ‘list’.

  4. My little one would love this. He really dislikes the dark and I think this would comfort him. Thanks for sharing.

  5. oh this would be perfect for my 3 year old. She always need the hallway light on before bedtime. This could certainly ease her anxiety and save us some electricity. 🙂

  6. This is cute, it’s great for children. I agree, it would be great if there was an option to keep the projector on all night. Thank you for sharing this review, it looks like a really great product.
