2014 Kia Sorento Review

I recently had the opportunity to test drive a 2014 Kia Sorento for a week. I have already driven and reviewed the 2012 Kia Sorento last year so I welcomed the opportunity to drive the newest version of the Kia Sorento around and experience the difference.

Given that it’s been a year since the time I drove the 2012 Kia Sorento, I had to check the photos I took last year to see the difference. I saw some improvement in terms of the design. This new model has a sleeker look than its predecessor. And I like the overall look of the interior.

As you can see in the photo above, there’s still a lot of space even with a car seat in the middle. It was nice to see my mother-in-law not struggling to squeeze into a tight space beside the car seat like she does when she rides with us in our small car.

The leather seats looked so elegant, and those second row seats can actually be folded down individually in case you need to transport something really long (like a surfboard or something).

But I think the best part about the 2014 Kia Sorento is the panoramic moonroof because it’s really panoramic! I haven’t seen any moonroof like it before! It’s the biggest one I’ve ever seen! So yeah I really liked that, and so did my husband and my son. It was great to see my little one enjoy what he’s seeing through the moonroof!

There are lots of controls on the steering wheel and all around the driver. Of all these, I’m particularly interested in the heated seats. Not that I got to use it, but because I know that can be really cozy during winter.

If you love music like me and my husband, then you’ll appreciate the Infinity surround sound audio system. Great for when you want to sing your heart out as a family while on a road trip!

Now the back of the vehicle is also one of my favorite areas. The door opens and shuts automatically by just pressing a button. And since the 3rd row of seats can be folded down, it’s great for tailgaiting! We didn’t have a chance to actually do it but I can imagine hanging out with family and some friends, listening to music, and munching on food at the back of the vehicle!

Overall, I really like the 2014 Kia Sorento. The fact that I have the option of having a big trunk or a 3rd row is such a big plus for me and my family! And the panoramic moonroof? It’s something both kids and adults will surely love! At around $40,100 (give or take a few hundred dollars depending on customizations you may want), I think it’s a good investment!

* I received a 2014 Kia Sorento for a 1-week test drive. No compensation was received for this post. Thoughts are my own.
