This Monroe and Main review and giveaway is part of a Fashionista Events opportunity. Clothing/accessories were provided by Monroe and Main as noted below.
I first heard about Monroe And Main when they sponsored the Grand Prize for the Spring Fashionista Event earlier this year. The Fashionista Event is held twice a year (Spring and Fall) and is the largest online-only fashion event with over 100 blogs participating and featuring various fashion brands. And now I’ve been given an opportunity to choose some items from their website and share my thoughts.
Monroe And Main Placket Tunic
This is probably my favorite item on their website. I chose one in Sapphire but it’s also available in Navy and Wine. It’s a v-necked long sleeve tunic that fits loosely on my body. In the photos below though, the fabric looks like it’s hugging my tummy but that’s because it was quite windy outside when we were taking pictures.
It’s quite easy to style this top! You can pair it with jeans and loosely tuck the ends in for a smart casual kind of look. You can also let it loose and pair it with tights. And though you may also opt to wear a belt with this, I haven’t been much of a belt person since the time I gave birth — which is when I started having a muffin top. 🙁
Monroe And Main Cowl Neck Sweater
I chose the Cowl Neck Sweater in Ruby but it also comes in Deep Emerald and Espresso. Can I just say that I looove the shape of this top?! It has a combination of 3 of my favorite features — dolman sleeves, cowl neck, and it sits below my hips. I always prefer tunic tops because I need to accentuate the length of my upper body. This, I believe, somehow makes me look slimmer than I really am.
For this top, I’d prefer just wearing jeans or, for a more formal look, slacks. I wouldn’t wear tights with this because everything would just look too tight on me from the middle downwards.
