Wordless Wednesday – Our Disneyland Character Breakfast

And again, this Wordless Wednesday post is not exactly wordless. ‘Cause I really want to tell you about our Disneyland character breakfast! 🙂

Last month, hubby and I decided to take a quick vacation to Disneyland to celebrate Sam’s 2nd birthday. I placed a reservation for the Plaza Inn character breakfast at the Disneyland park and ordered a chocolate Mickey Mouse birthday cake ahead of time. To make our experience even more special, I ordered a Jake costume online so that Sam can dress up as his favorite Disney character.

So this is Sam in his Jake (of Jake and the Neverland Pirates) costume. He also has Jake’s sword and telescope but I forgot to ask him to hold them when I took this photo.
Sam as Jake

And these are the characters he met during the “Minnie & Friends Character Breakfast” at the Disneyland Plaza Inn restaurant!

Chip & Dale - Disneyland Plaza Inn Character BreakfastChip and Dale! I didn’t know that you can tell them apart by their teeth! Chip has just one tooth and Dale has 2!

Tigger & Winnie The Pooh - Disneyland Plaza Inn character breakfastTigger and Winnie The Pooh! Since Tigger is also one of Sam’s favorites (not because he watches the show but because he has a couple of Tigger toys), he was so excited to meet him and have their photo taken!

Peter Pan & Captain Hook - Disneyland Plaza Inn character breakfastPeter Pan and Captain Hook! They’re also on the Jake and the Neverland Pirates show so these are my favorite photos! It look as though Captain Hook has captured Jake!

Minnie Mouse - Disneyland Plaza Inn character breakfastAnd of course, we met the star of the Plaza Inn restaurant, Minnie Mouse! It was just sad that we didn’t get to meet Mickey Mouse during the character breakfast. It’s fine though, we got to meet him at the entrance of the park anyway.

Birthday SongSinging “happy birthday” to Sam. It was Winnie The Pooh and Eeyore (with some cast members) that sang the birthday song for Sam. They brought out our beautiful chocolate Mickey Mouse cake and greeted him a happy birthday!

Chocolate Mickey Mouse Birthday Cake - Disneyland Plaza Inn character breakfastOur chocolate Mickey Mouse birthday cake! If you’re wondering, Disneyland offers cakes of different sizes and shapes for whatever your occasion may be. You won’t find the official price list online though. They have a generic 6-inch round cake which you can order for $33 on the spot. If you want a custom cake up to 10 inches like this one, you can pre-order by calling them at least 72 hours prior to your visit. This one costs $52.

The cake tasted really good! But it was just too big for me, my husband and Sam so we ended up storing it inside one of the lockers along Main Street for the rest of the day and eventually bringing it home to San Jose the following day.

***Dining at the Plaza Inn costs $15 per child and $29.99 per adult. You may call Disneyland Dining at (714)781-DINE or (714)781-3463 for reservations, cake orders, and more information.

Have you ever gone to a character breakfast at either Disneyland or Disney World? How was it? Let me know in the comments below!

I received complimentary entrance tickets to the Disneyland parks during our vacation. But we paid for all other expenses, including this Disneyland character breakfast. Thoughts are my own. See my Disclosure Policy.
