Minute Rice Quick & Easy Meals With Minute® Ready to Serve Rice

Rice is something we never run out of here at home. If we do, my husband would go crazy! We rarely eat anything without rice — except when we’re having pasta or pizza.

Preparing rice takes about 24-30 minutes so we always have to be mindful of how much is left in our cooker to make sure we don’t run out. So when I found out about Minute® Ready to Serve Rice, I got curious and really wanted to try it out for myself. Luckily, I was sent free coupon so I could pick it up from the grocery and experience it.

The photo above is Minute Rice straight from the microwave. I just needed to heat it for a minute and it’s done. I was a bit hesitant about how this would taste and feel on my tongue. I was afraid it might be half-cooked but when I tasted it, I was impressed. I felt like it even tasted better than what we prepare here at home.

I paired the Minute Rice (White variant) with Filipino Beef Stew with veggies.

The soup of the beef stew went really well with the taste of Minute Rice. I couldn’t stop eating because it was able to bring out the rich flavors in my favorite filipino beef stew!

The beef stew takes a while to prepare so I suggest you cook it 1 hour (or even more) before mealtime. To prepare the beef stew, you need onions, cubed beef brisket, fish sauce, peppercorn, and cabbage. Other people like to add more vegetables like potatoes, carrots and other green leafy veggies. This one is simple.

1. Saute onion in medium heat until transparent.
2. Add cubed beef brisket and cook for about 10 minutes.
3. Add fish sauce and peppercorn and pour in water. Simmer until beef is tender (usually takes about an hour).
4. Add cabbage. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
5. Serve.

I got curious about the different varieties of Minute Rice so I also bought the Brown variant.

Since they say that brown rice is healthier and better for the body, I wanted to check if it tastes as good. This time, I paired it with sizzling milkfish. Here’s a photo of the meal I prepared:

I actually liked it. It isn’t like the other brands that I’ve tried before that felt rough on my tongue. And again, with Minute Rice, preparing my meal took just a few minutes. I get to spend more time doing other important things.

This will be great for long drives or when you want a quick but full meal while you’re out of the house!
