Cord Blood Can Help Your Family Tomorrow

cord blood

Once a family starts expecting a baby, we all make it a priority to ensure that the baby is healthy. I currently have 5 churchmates who are pregnant and everyone’s really protective of them. People always ask if they’ve had their regular checkup and if the baby’s doing well. One of the things parents also need to consider is arranging for the baby’s cord blood to be cryogenically stored.

What is cord blood? How exactly does it help the family?

Cord blood is the blood that remains in the placenta of the mother and in the attached umbilical cord after childbirth. Cord blood is collected because it is a rich source of stem cells, which can be used to treat genetic disorders and over 75 conditions. To date there have been over 21,000 cord blood transplants using samples from cord blood storage programs.

For effective storage and development, cord blood stem cells must be banked by a cord blood program like Insception Lifebank. The collection process is painless and poses no risk to the mother or the baby’s health. It does not interfere with the baby’s birth. Go ahead and visit www.insception.com for more information about cord blood, and the storage process.

  1. I know this is controversial, but I believe it’s a wonderful idea. I did this with my son when he was born. Fortunately, it hasn’t been needed, but it’s a great safety net.

  2. I looked into this when I was prego but could not afford it,it’s wonderful. Great post!

  3. I know several people who are pregnant and would really love to do this, in the US the storage and collection fees are just very expensive.

  4. Sounds like a great program. Maybe it will become more affordable eventually for more to be able to take advantage of it.

  5. I had not heard of this until reading on blog last week. The medical abilities have come a long way.

  6. I fully support this and try to let anyone I know who is pregnant learn a bit about it so they can think it over and decide if it’s something they are interested in doing. Modern day genetics is moving in such an unbelievable speed; it’s remarkable what can be done these days in the lab!

  7. I thought about this when my son was born, but I couldn’t afford it. I wish I had. 🙁
