Does working from home sound like it’s too good to be true? In many cases, it is. There are numerous scams and pyramid schemes looking to monopolize on those people who want to make money without lifting a finger. Unfortunately, that rarely works out in the end. If you’re willing to put in the time and effort required to make a profit, then you can do it! No one is stopping you.

Read on for three ways to earn an income – without setting foot in an office!

Start blogging

Do you have a knack for writing or an eye for photography? Blogging can be a great way to showcase your talents and share your ideas with a global audience. If you update regularly and fill your blog with great content, you can gain a following and eventually monetize your site. It’s easy to include advertisements on your blog if you’re working off a major platform like Blogspot, Tumblr, or WordPress. As you build your community, you can start placing ads on the blog and make money based on the traffic you generate. Blogging is flexible, rewarding, and lets you communicate with individuals all over the world – and get paid to do it.

Try investing

If you’ve always had a way with numbers, day trading could be a way for you to make some money on the side. Financial education companies like Online Trading Academy help novice traders hone their skills and become trading professionals. With a little bit of training, focus, and commitment, you can earn an income from the comfort of your home. Although it can feel nerve-racking to be at the mercy of the market, research shows women are far more risk-averse than men, and tend to make better snap judgments and financial decisions. See if trading is a good fit for you. If you master the art of investing, you can earn a substantial daily income as a day trader.

Launch a business

Do you have a hobby that you’re passionate about? Maybe it’s time to monetize! Starting a business is a huge endeavor but if you’re feeling lackluster about your current job or you’re itching to start working again, starting a business from home can be a great way to capitalize on your strengths and turn an idea into a tangible operation. These days, thanks to technology, it’s easier than ever to work from home. There are numerous organizations that operate solely on the web, and connecting with customers, consultants, and employees around the globe is easier than it’s ever been.
If you’re intimidated by the thought of making a big change to your daily routine, take a step back. There’s no rush. If you’re eager to start making money however, try one of the above options to get out of your comfort zone and start turning a profit.

3 Ways To Earn Money From Home — 31 Comments

  1. Blogging is a great idea, but everyone needs to remember that it is a WAH enterprise, to make it work really well (ie bring in some real money) it will be a full-time job!

  2. I have tried to start blogging, but just don’t have the time to commit. I work full time plus with kids I just can’t swing it.

  3. Maybe someday I could work at home. Right now I’m the bread winner working full-time as hubby goes through school.

  4. I have the time to commit to blogging, but I just wish I had more information and knew where to go to get things like mast heads and web designs. Also, I would really like to know about how much money one can make doing this sort of thing at home?

  5. May I suggest a must do for our family?… That is joining a Bay Area, TX playgroup for a positive and playful experience. You can meet other moms n tots for fun and friendships! May I suggest Little Explorers Learn n Playgroup? It can be found on meetup.com under that name. It is free to start a profile there and well worth it! ENJOY!

  6. I’d really like to learn how to day trade. Though I like to write, my consistency is an issue.

  7. Thank you for the informative article. I would love to arrange things one day to be able to work from home. At the moment I don’t have time to dedicate to blogging but lets see what the future holds.

  8. I can write reasonable well, I have the time to write blog and I have much to say. My problem is finding the right audience for what I have to say. The people who need to hear it are not inclined to listen and the ones who are inclined to listen don’t really need it. In other words, I would be preaching to the choir and only the choir. Any suggestions?

  9. Nice ideas but as they say “you need money to make money” which I don’t have.

  10. I’ve thought about some of these, but I’m not confident that I can give 100% + more for the endeavor (at least for the time being). There’s a lot of opportunity out there, but it requires a lot of planning, research, support, etc.

  11. I really want to blog, cause I have a lot to say, teehee, but I just don’t want to commit the time right now. maybe in the future.

  12. I had to give up my career due to the onset of a chronic disease. I started selling for a few of my faborite Direct-Sales Companies just as a way to try to stay connected to people. I’m pretty much attached to my computer 24/7, so I’m seriously considering starting a blog! I would LOVE to see more articles with tips on starting & maintaing a quality Blog!

  13. I work from home, and I must say it’s the best thing for me.
Bur I do it in a more ‘tradicional’ way. As a freelancer, I have a home office.
My life changed in so many ways since I don’t have leave home and go to work everyday, I can take care of my kids, I can cook, and work any time I want. But I need a lot of discipline to make things work out.
In the beggining it was difficult to make the family understand my routine, and respect the time I need to be alone, quiet, concentrated on the job. Nowadays everything is perfect. But I work now a lot more than the office days.

  14. The options are really endless when it comes to working from home. I have been working from home for the past 8 years. I do freelance writing, social media assisting, virtual assisting, customer service and much more. I love it but beware there are scams out there.
