Hate it when it gets too warm while you’re sleeping? I’m like that at times. Now that it’s really cold, we’ve been using a thick blanket to keep us warm at night. But sometimes, it just gets too warm for me. And that’s why I appreciate cool pillows. For this review, I received the Cool Cerulean Bubbles Hydraluxe Bed Pillow from Comfort Revolution.

Comfort Revolution Cooling Pillow

I was so excited when I received this package because I was really curious about it. Unlike the other cool pillow that I reviewed last week, this pillow isn’t just “cool”, it’s “cooling”. The other pillow was cool because it lets air in and out so easily. This one is cooling — once you lay on it, you will feel that it’s starting to feel cooler.

It’s kind of heavy though but I think memory foam pillows are really usually a bit on the heavier side than other pillows that are made with different materials. And because this pillow has a gel layer, it is to be expected that the additional layer would add significantly add to the weight. This isn’t much of a problem for me though since I’m not really planning to make it my travel pillow anyway.

Like any memory foam pillow, the Comfort Revolution Cooling Pillow may feel a bit firm at first but as you continue to lay your head on it, you’ll feel the pillow adjust to the shape of your head so it feels really comfortable.

Aside from using it on my head, I also tried to place it in between my legs. Like I mentioned before, I like having a pillow between my legs when I sleep. Since I’m a side sleeper, my leg is usually on top of the other and it would sometimes feel too warm so having this pillow which actually cools the surface against the gel layer is like heaven.

I do recognize though that this isn’t for everyone. My husband would usually kick the pillow to my side because he doesn’t like the cooling effect. He says that since it’s already too cold, he doesn’t want anything to make him feel even colder. LOL! Works for me though. At least I have this pillow all to myself!

  92. I bought a comfort revolution cool gel pillow about 6 weeks ago. The directions said to air out the pillow for 72 hours before using. I have been airing it out for 6 weeks & it still smells badly & makes me cough. There has to be a toxic chemical involved here. I bought the pillow at Sam’s Club in Bangor, Maine for $29.95. I can’t take the pillow back because I didn’t keep the receipt.

    When I did try the pillow on 3 different nights, I found it to be perfectly wonderful to sleep on. That’s why I kept trying the last 6 weeks to use it. But the pillow makes me sick & I cough terrible when I use it.

    I also wanted to add this explanation. Our pillows typically take approximately 72 hours to air out. The smell is a combination of the memory foam and Hydraluxe gel component.

    After production, our former supplier would immediately put the pillows into packaging, leaving the pillow with very little time to air out. Our new facility in Mississippi has the capability to air out and diminish the smell before packaging.

  94. I have used many types of cooling pillows. And among them, I found the Comfort Revolution Hydraluxe Cooling Gel memory foam pillow is the best. Because it keeps the surface of the pillow cool all the night which gives me a very comfortable sleep. Thanks a lot for sharing such an awesome pillow.
