Soft Bums Omni Cloth Diaper Review

I had an opportunity to do a review on the Soft Bums Omni Diaper. Soft Bums uses different terms for its diapers and that was one of the first things that caught my attention. I had to understand how their Omni diaper system was different from the Echo diaper system. Well, to put it simply, the Omni system is a pocket diaper and the Echo system is similar to diaper covers. So if you’re ordering an Echo, don’t forget to order one of their pods as well. Here are some of the features of the Omni:

– SoftBums Patent Pending SlideSize is the ONLY variable adjustment of its kind
– Fits all legs widths from 4″ – 14″ for NO red marks EVER.
– Made in the USA
– Huge pocket opening is easy to stuff and un-stuff
– No Leaks, Thanks to SlideSize Technology
– SoftBums Omni protects against rash; up to 80% less rash than disposables
– Industrial strength velcro closures are long lasting and won’t “wear out” like other velcro
– Snap in the back to prevent shifting of the pod
– Inner is made of super soft unbleached, hypo-allergenic fleece

What I love about the Soft Bums cloth diapers is that they’re very soft!

If you’ve read my other cloth diaper reviews, softness is something I always look for in a cloth diaper. I just don’t like it when my son’s skin touches anything that might be uncomfortable for him.

As you can see in the photos above, the diaper inserts have snaps. These snaps are there so you can adjust the size. There’s also a snap near the tag so you can easily attach the smaller insert which acts as a booster for overnight use. The diaper has what they call “Slide2Size” (see bottom left photo). There are 2 garters that help you adjust the leg openings. This is very helpful if you have smaller babies using these diapers. The garter system makes it so flexible in terms of adjusting sizes.

The DryTouch Pods (inserts) are very effective in absorbing wetness. But at the same time, I don’t have much of a problem with the drying time. And I don’t have a problem with stink.

I think the Soft Bums diaper is one of the brands that are easiest to use once you get the hang of which snaps go where. Their Omni diapers are $24.95 and they come in 11 different prints. The Cowies are my favorite! So cute!

  5. For my first we have been using disposables…and only when I see the waste that comes with, as well as the expense. I am going to aim towards cloth diapers for sure for our next little one, which should be in the next year or two hopefully 🙂 So until then I am reading as many reviews as possible. Thank you for sharing your review!

  14. Hate to say it but I can buy a better WAHM Diaper for cheaper than this. I do like the garter things but still. For 24$ it better fit until adult hood.

  15. I love the cow print! I tried Softbums when I first started using cloth on our preemie a year ago. I could not get a good fit, but that was probably user error. I would love to try again especially since now they come in snaps as well.

  16. I love that you describe them as so soft, I love soft diaper inners for my little ones too!

  17. cant wait to win so I can try on my new nephew due in Jan 2013. A great alternative to disposable diapers and made to fit in many adjustable ways! Thanks so much!!!

  18. Very cute diapers, especially for boys, which I have been looking for and there arent many choices for cute designs for boys. Like the idea of them having so many adjustments so they should get the right fit. Hope for the chance to try them out.

  19. I really like that these have snaps for holding the inserts in place. That is a feature I have come to love in CDs.

  20. I’ve only tried the snap down rise diapers. I’d like to try the other kind and see what I think. I really like snap in inserts so that pockets can also be AI2s.

  21. The planet wise review link sends me here and this isn’t the planet wise review so I checked out the website and here’s my comment. I love the different prints the planet wise bag comes in. I’d love to get one in the carnival skulls pattern! I have one wetbag but I’m finding that having several would be helpful so I’m putting this one on my list of possibilities

  22. I need to try these SoftBums. I like that they really are soft, and that they will fit my newborn. That print is adorable.

  23. I definitely like that it fits all leg widths. I hate when my baby has little red marks on his thighs 🙁

  24. I always wanted to try the cloth diapers for my kids. The red marks on the legs are a huge no no for me. Thanks for the review!

  25. These are so cute. It is so nice to have a comfy diaper for baby and one that is very absorbent to keep the moisture away from babies skin. Thank you so much for sharing
