Product Review :: Ameda Elite Hospital Grade Breast Pump

Given the many breast pumps in the market today, choosing one is such a difficult ordeal for moms. Here I give you my reviews on the 5 different breast pumps I have used since giving birth.

The first breast pump I used is the Ameda Elite Hospital Grade Breast Pump. This was during the time I was still confined in the hospital. I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and had 2 seizures one morning so at 35 weeks pregnant, the doctors decided neurontin to do an emergency c-section on me.

Even though my baby didn’t need to be confined in the NICU, we needed to stay at Kaiser for 5 days because of my skyrocketing blood pressure. And I used this pump for the first 3 days I spent there.

I can say that this breast pump is very good. For one, it’s really quiet. Although you could hear the blue tubes moving to get suction, it is very minimal. You can also adjust the suction level and speed using the dials so you can pump at a comfortable pace. This breast pump helped me start breastfeeding. It was very effective in getting the colostrum out so that my baby can benefit from all the nutrition in it.

The downside, however, is that this breast pump is priced at $799.95 at the Ameda Online store. Of course, that’s because this is hospital grade. If you don’t want to buy this, you can opt to rent one. Just check with your hospital if they do breast pump rentals.

Product Review :: Ameda Elite Hospital Grade Breast Pump — 5 Comments

  1. Wow! What a machine! Yes, it does seem pricy, but I am going to see if it is still available on the website and if so if I can rent it for my step-daughter who is due in May (we have a couple of great home health care rental stores near where we live).

  2. It is expensive but it sounds like the best. Maybe if someone wanted it they could get their family to pool the money for it?

  3. WOW! Thanks for the great Product Review :: Ameda Elite Hospital Grade Breast Pump! It sounds like it’s an excellent pump, however, $800! WOW! That’s an awful lot of money! I, for some reason, wasn’t able to produce enough milk to feed my children so they were all bottle fed! I know my daughter had a breast pump for a while but I have no idea what kind she had. Thanks again for the information you provided us. I truly appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele 🙂
